Glassbound Echoes

A Show at Newlab

Glassbound Echoes is an installation that confronts the overlooked tragedy of bird-window collisions. The sculptures originate from songbirds that perished in glass strikes while foraging in New York City during migration. Each bird was 3D scanned and then cast in glass, reincarnating them in the very material that caused their deaths. These delicate yet spectral forms become urban fossils—both memorial and warning. By making the invisible visible, the installation compels reflection on the unintended consequences of the built environment, urging a deeper reckoning with its impact on the natural world.
